Our commitment
Wattbench aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, and to meet our responsibilities under the Australian Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth). Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-off box to tick. We treat barriers as bugs.
What we do
- Semantic HTML with landmarks (a single main region, real headings and lists) and a “Skip to content” link at the top of every page.
- Full keyboard operation: every interactive control, including the search palette and the calculators, is reachable and usable without a mouse, with a clearly visible focus indicator.
- Support for your system reduce motion setting, so animation is minimised when you ask your device to limit it.
- Light and dark themes that follow your system preference, with colour contrast targeted at the WCAG AA thresholds.
- Responsive layouts that reflow for zoom and small screens, and a page language declared as Australian English (en-AU) so screen readers pronounce content correctly.
What isn't done yet
We haven't completed a formal, independent WCAG 2.2 AA audit. That review is planned. Some of the denser interfaces, such as the cross-brand fault-code tables and a few of the engineering calculators, may still have gaps we're working through. If something on the bench blocks you, we want to hear about it and fix it.
Third-party content
We link out to manufacturer documentation and other resources. We don't control those sites and can't guarantee their accessibility.
