Electrical safety
Solar and battery systems carry serious risk of injury, fire, and equipment damage. Our fault-code references are written to help you understand what a code means; they are not repair instructions. Any work involving DC isolators, AC switches, wiring, or opening equipment is licensed electrical work and must be carried out by a suitably licensed electrician, in accordance with AS/NZS 3000 and the relevant standards. If you are unsure, stop and contact the installer or a qualified professional.
Estimates, not specifications
Our calculators produce indicative estimates to help you reason about a system, and show the formula and assumptions they use. They are not quotes, designs, engineering specifications, or compliance certificates, and they make simplifying assumptions. A final design belongs to a licensed designer working to the current edition of the applicable standard. Always confirm figures before relying on them.
Standards references
Our standards pages set out what each AS/NZS or IEC standard governs. We do not reproduce the copyrighted standard text or its tables. Standards are revised periodically. Always work to the current published edition and have a licensed professional confirm compliance.
Rebates and incentives
Rebate and small-scale technology certificate (STC) mechanics change on a schedule set by government. Our rebate tools take the market certificate price as an input and never bake in a dollar figure. Always re-verify against the current Clean Energy Regulator (CER) or DCCEEW position before quoting a rebate amount to a customer.
Accuracy and sources
Our fault libraries and explainers are compiled from publicly available manufacturer documentation and other sources, then rewritten in plain English. Manufacturers revise firmware, specifications, and codes over time, and errors can occur. We make no warranty that the information is complete, current, or accurate for your specific equipment. Always check the product's official documentation and the inverter's own manual.
