Compiled from publicly available SolarEdge inverter and battery documentation and field references, then rewritten for the trade. Wattbench is independent and not affiliated with SolarEdge.

Which of these can I clear on site?

Some clear on their own once grid or environmental conditions return to normal. Anything involving DC isolation, AC switching, wiring or opening the unit is licensed electrical work. Isolate safely, follow AS/NZS 5033 and AS/NZS 3000 procedure and use appropriate PPE before touching a live system.

The exact code isn't listed. Why not?

Firmware and model variants differ, and manufacturers revise their code tables. We document the most common ones; for a variant that isn't here, check the unit's current manual or the manufacturer's service portal.

A reference compiled by Wattbench from SolarEdge's official Error Codes and Troubleshooting user guide (Version 1.1, January 2026). SolarEdge error codes are hexadecimal characters split by an x — for example 03x85 — shown on the inverter display where fitted and in the SolarEdge platform. This library covers all six tables in that guide: the communication list, the residential single- and three-phase list, the commercial three-phase list, the Synergy-technology list, the TerraMax utility list, and the warning-messages list. The guide reuses code numbers across tables for different faults — 8x1E and 8x22 each appear in both the commercial and TerraMax tables with different meanings and different instructions — so entries outside the residential list carry their section in the code, and both variants are published separately. Where the guide lists one code twice with genuinely conflicting instructions, the entry says so and carries both. A few rows contain errors in the guide's own layout, printing an instruction in the description column or splitting one procedure across both; those entries describe the defect rather than reproducing it as though it were the fault's meaning. The Synergy table is different in kind: it publishes only a code and an event-text constant, with no description or troubleshooting for any row, and the guide's own instruction for that whole table is to contact SolarEdge Support. Those 100 entries are therefore searchable but deliberately carry no remedy. Installer guidance throughout quotes the guide's own step for that exact row. Three TerraMax rows (33x47, 33x85, 33x86) are printed in the guide with an uppercase X separator; they are published here with the lowercase x the guide's own overview specifies, since search matches either. The guide does not establish the installed Australian variant or firmware. Safety note: owners should record the code and stop at safe visual observations. AC/DC isolation, electrical measurements, wiring, settings changes and opening equipment are licensed-worker tasks; ground-fault and arc codes in particular are shock hazards the guide itself gates behind qualified technicians.

Where do these SolarEdge fault codes come from?: Compiled from publicly available SolarEdge inverter and battery documentation and field references, then rewritten for the trade. Wattbench is independent and not affiliated with SolarEdge.
Which of these can I clear on site?: Some clear on their own once grid or environmental conditions return to normal. Anything involving DC isolation, AC switching, wiring or opening the unit is licensed electrical work. Isolate safely, follow AS/NZS 5033 and AS/NZS 3000 procedure and use appropriate PPE before touching a live system.
