Diagnose playbook
Inverter Not Producing Power
A safe, ordered triage for a system showing zero generation, from site conditions and monitoring through to the fault record an installer needs.
Safety boundaryRead first
Owners should stop at app, display and accessible switchboard observations. Do not remove covers, open an inverter, test live conductors or access rooftop equipment.

These device-local checks are working state, not evidence. Save actual readings, observations and the outcome in a job record.

01
Confirm the symptom
- Record the time, weather and whether the reading comes from the inverter, retailer meter or monitoring app.
- Check whether the whole system is at zero or only one inverter, string or phase appears affected.
- Capture the exact alert text, code and model before restarting anything.
02
Safe observations
- Confirm the monitoring device has connectivity and that its timestamp is current.
- Look for a visible trip or isolation state without operating equipment you are not authorised to operate.
- Check whether a grid outage or planned network interruption is affecting the site.
03
Installer handover
- Provide the model, serial number, exact code, first occurrence and any recent site work.
- Include clear photos of the display and accessible switch positions, without opening equipment.
- Use the matching Wattbench fault library to identify the manufacturer-documented next check.
