Make the area safe

  1. Keep clear of fallen conductors, damaged modules, loose metalwork and flooded equipment.
  2. Contact emergency or network services where public electrical hazards are present.
  3. Do not rely on a dark display as proof that DC equipment is de-energised.

Observe from a safe position

  1. Record visible debris, broken glass, movement, water ingress and equipment alerts.
  2. Capture the time, storm type and any outage or surge evidence.
  3. Do not clean, move or reconnect damaged components.

Arrange assessment

  1. Provide photographs and system details to an SAA-accredited solar installer.
  2. Ask for the required electrical and structural inspection scope to be confirmed.
  3. Keep the inspection findings and rectification evidence with the job.
