Grid Overvoltage and Repeated Inverter Tripping
Collect the evidence needed to distinguish a network condition, site voltage rise, settings issue or installation problem without guessing at the cause.
Safety boundaryRead first
Voltage measurement, inverter settings and switchboard work must be performed by an appropriately licensed person. Do not defeat protection settings to keep a system online.

Keep the evidence with the job
These device-local checks are working state, not evidence. Save actual readings, observations and the outcome in a job record.

01
Capture the event
- Record the exact code, event time, duration and whether the inverter reconnects automatically.
- Compare the event with site load, solar output and nearby systems where evidence is available.
- Preserve monitoring logs before clearing alarms or changing configuration.
02
Licensed checks
- Confirm approved regional settings and document any changes rather than applying an undocumented workaround.
- Assess voltage at appropriate points under relevant operating conditions.
- Review conductor route, size, connections, phase conditions and the network connection approval.
03
Network escalation
- Package timestamps, measurements, inverter logs and connection details for the relevant DNSP.
- Separate evidence observed at the point of supply from voltage rise within the installation.
- Retain the case reference and final resolution in the job record.
